Roald Dahl- The Twits

Mr and Mrs Twit love to play horrible tricks on each other!

Click picture

Try thinking of your own disgusting trick for Mr or Mrs Twit. Draw a picture of the trick and then write a few sentences or a short story about what happens. Remember to think about who is going to read your story. Make it exciting and use interesting vocabulary!

If you have enjoyed learning about Roald Dahl and his fabulous stories, you can listen to James and the Giant Peach being read by some famous faces on the Roald Dahl HQ YouTube page.

Mathematics

This is a great opportunity to learn to tell the time to o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to.

Make sure you are really secure on these before learning to tell the time to five minutes.

Watch this video to recap an analogue clock.

If you don’t have a clock at home to practise telling the time on, you can use this interactive clock instead.

Why don’t you try making your own teaching clock to help you practise?

Use a paper plate or draw around a plate on a piece of card and cut it out.

Ask your grown-up to challenge you with some more time problems.

Think about what time you do things throughout the day.

What will you be doing in half an hour?

What were you doing an hour ago?

Science – animals, habitats and food chains

Follow these links to find out about animals, their habitats and food chains.

Look for different wild animals when you are in your garden, at the park or on the beach.

Think about how these animals fit into a food chain.

What do these animals eat?

Is there an animal that eats them?

Have a look at these habitats.

What kind of animals do you think you would find living in them?

Can you be a scientist and think about the characteristics of these habitats?

Are they hot or cold?

Are they wet or dry?

What kind of plants grow in them?

Are they sunny or shady?

Are they windy or sheltered?

A little extra…

The children in school have been having a go at skipping with a rope… and finding it really tricky!

See if you can practise using a skipping rope at home. This is great exercise and using these muscles will even help with writing!
