Google Classroom

You should have received you child's Google Classroom login details by now, If you have not received an email (please check you spam or junk) or are experiencing any problems logging into your child's class then please email 

googleclassroomhelp@devonshire.portsmouth.sch.uk

 

You and your child can access Google Classroom using a tablet, phone, laptop, PC and even an Xbox or Playstation

as long as you have access to the internet.

1. Share a book with your child. 

This can be any book you have at home or you can access one using Oxford Owl.

Oxford Owl is an online resource that has a variety of ebooks which your children can access at home as well as at school.

This can be through listening to the books whilst following the text, or reading them independently.

Each class can access the ebooks on www.oxfordowl.co.uk by logging onto ‘My class login’ at the top of the page

using the following information:

Year R/Owls.............. Username: dev r                     Password: 1234

Squirrels.................... Username: dev squirrels        Password: 1234

Hedgehogs................ Username: dev hedgehogs    Password: 1234

2.  Learn your year group spellings and practise writing them in a sentence.

4. Draw a picture of your family and write about them.

This could be…

 • labels

 • a sentence

• a description using adjectives

• a story 

5. Do something creative – can you draw something, make something,

bake something, build something?

6. Play I-Spy using initial sounds or digraphs that you already know.

7. Make up a new game. Write down the rules and teach it to someone else.

8. Join in with some exercise.
