  1. Parents
  2. Safeguarding

Safeguarding

What is meant by safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Safeguarding means: protecting children from abuse and maltreatment, preventing harm to children's health or development, and ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care.

Our two main principals that underpin safeguarding at Devonshire Infant School are:

1.   Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. All agencies should work together.

2.   All staff should ensure they consider the child’s well being at all times and their approach is child-centred.
