The first book we’ve been learning about is Billy’s Bucket by Kes Gray and Garry Parsons.

Listen to this amazing retelling of the story.

Imagine you are looking into your own bucket, just like Billy.

Draw a circle on a piece of paper and use your imagination to fill it with sea creatures.

Watch these live videos from the Aquarium of the Pacific. Think about the different sea creatures you can see.

The Rainbow Fish

We have also been reading The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister.

Enjoy listening to this lovely story being read.

Draw around your hand and use your finger to paint the rainbow fish’s scales.

Use a paper plate to make the shape of the rainbow fish. Make their scales by cutting out pieces of coloured paper or by colouring it in using pens, pencils or paint.

Mathematics

In maths we have been learning about teen numbers. Watch these brilliant number blocks episodes. Each one is about a different teen number.

Can you make a teen number using objects from around the house such as Lego bricks or dried pasta?

Now find one more or one less than this number. What number do you have now?

How many tens are in your number?

How many ones are in your number?

Match these ten frames to the correct teen number.

Maths - doubling, halving and sharing

Can you double objects around your house? Maybe you can find 2 stones and double them. How many do you have now?

Watch this story about halving.

Try finding half of different numbers to ten.

Share the objects between two plates, make sure that both plates have the same number of objects.

Can you share all the numbers to ten equally between two?

Why can’t you share some numbers equally between two?
