My Dog Sighs – Art

Year 2 had a fabulous time learning all about our local street artist My Dog Sighs.

We explored the different kinds of art that he creates and then put our skills to the test by sketching a detailed eye and then creating our very own Everyman art.

The children enjoyed it so much that they made an Everyman of themselves.

The children all put their own creative flare into their work and the results were excellent!

The children’s favourite part was mixing the paints to make new colours and blending the background. Well done Year 2!

Learning Outside

With the warmer weather now settling in, Year 2 have enjoyed taking some lessons in our new garden space.

The children enjoyed a maths lesson where they were finding equal amounts of groups.

HMS Titanic – History, English and DT

The children have loved learning all about the Titanic in our History topic.

They learned all about life on board the ship and the differences between being a first and third class passenger.

As part of our writing, the children wrote some imaginative diary entries.

We also incorporated DT into our Titanic topic and the children all made hand puppets of a passenger of their choice!

The Great Fire of London – English

In our second writing unit of Spring 2, the children learned all about the Great Fire of London!

They learned through dance, drama, interactive and sensory videos to support their writing of an emotive and descriptive diary entry and a bossy letter to the Lord Mayor of London!
