Spring Term 2019

Circus Week

Another busy term in Year two! It started with another fantastic Circus week with Circus Steve and his Shooting Stars Circus. The children have been able to improve on previous skills and learn some new ones. Much fun was had by all in the Devonshire Circus to parents!

The Great Fire of London

Year 2 have loved finding out all about the Great Fire of London! We have acted it out, sung songs about it and all the children thoroughly enjoyed this topic. Everyone wrote a fantastic newspaper report about the terrifying events.

Infant Voices Music Festival

Once again, Devonshire has taken part in the annual Infant Voices Music Festival. The theme this year was careers and the whole school enjoyed learning the new songs. Each year group performed a selection of their favourite songs to parents in the hall. Again much fun was had by all at these informal events; you can see how much the children love to sing!

Sports at Priory School

Some children went to Priory to take part in an afternoon of sports and target practise. We kicked footballs, threw beanbags and bounced ping-pong balls into cups! Everyone enjoyed themselves and practised their sports skills.

Science Week

As part of British Science Week year 2 investigated how we could change the time it takes for ice to melt. We also had a fantastic time visiting Winchester Science Museum. The day was filled with lots of interesting and intriguing activities. Our favourite was spending time in the planetarium. It felt like the whole room was spinning!

Puzzle Mornings

Finally a big thank you to all those parents who joined us for our Puzzle mornings. They were well attended and both adults and children seemed to have lots of fun.
